Vacqueyras

Coming from the most beautiful terroirs of the appellation , Vacqueyras Rouge embodies the elegance and generosity of the wines of the Rhône Valley. A subtle blend of 70% Grenache noir and 30% Syrah , it is distinguished by its depth , roundness and intense notes of black fruits .

An exceptional terroir

This Vacqueyras vintage

draws its wealth from a stony plateau located in Sarrians , on clay-limestone soils extending over approximately 9 hectares. The vines, 40 years old on average , cultivated according to environmentally friendly practices, benefit from optimal sunshine and cool nights, allowing ideal maturation of the grapes.

Thanks to the complete maturation of the berries , the grapes have reached a perfect balance between concentration and freshness . The harvests, carried out both manually and mechanically , are sometimes quick in order to harvest each grape variety at the best time, and sometimes certain plots require more time to sublimate.

Traditional winemaking

Respecting the authenticity of our first vinifications , Vacqueyras is produced using traditional methods. Every day, the grapes are tasted before harvesting, and during vinification, the vats are carefully monitored.

- Maceration in temperature-controlled vats for 3 weeks (between 20 and 28°C)

- Fermentation adjusted daily according to the evolution of the must

- The aging in concrete tanks will be of approximately 12 months for the Cuvée Ascendance before being sent to oak barrels. As for the Vacqueyras (known as tradition) it will remain in concrete vats until bottling.

The 2021 vintage of our Vacqueyras (tradition) won the GOLD Medal at the 2022 Concours Général Agricole de Paris.
